Week 10 Sport Review

With the Rugby season now in full swing our teams had successful block fixtures against Kings Rochester on Wednesday and DPS Cranbrook on a cold Saturday. The senior teams have started the season in a really positive fashion with the U13A team producing two strong performances to build on their positive start to the season.

The U8s and U9s finished the Football season on Thursday with block fixtures against Yardley Court. In what proved to be an excellent afternoon of Football special mention must go to the U9A team who not only won their game 7-1 and as result have won all of their 6 matches scoring 20 goals and only conceding 2. Congratulations to them.

The Senior Netball teams continued their preparations for the season on Wednesday with training sessions for the U12 and 13 players at Eastbourne College and U10s at Sevenoaks School. Thank you to both schools for hosting the players and for their coaches excellent input. The U9 and 8 teams were in action against Derwent Lodge on Thursday, with all teams continuing their encouraging seasons.

Congratulations also to the 1st team Squash on their win against Bede’s in their fixture this week.

Finally on Saturday 73 teams totally 450 boys and girls competed in the IAPS Gymnastics Championships. Holmewood entered three teams, U9, U10 and U13 with all winning team medals congratulations to all who competed. But special praise must go to Annabelle who won the U13 Individual competition and is IAPS National Champion making it three years running for Holmewood gymnasts.
